Position Summary

The Locate Technician will oversee assigned locate requests daily.

Key Responsibilities

Manages ticket routing per service area.
Responds to customer queries in a timely manner and communicates with the team.
Responsible for field safety, locate request, vehicle safety, and vehicle maintenance.
Maintains a clean vehicle.
Projects a positive image of the organization to customers, industry, and community.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

Proficient knowledge of all locatable facilities (gas, electric, communication, copper, fiber, water and sewer).
Sound verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Sound diplomacy skills.
Skilled in Excel and locate ticket management systems.
Advanced knowledge of various facility records/prints.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent decision making and problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must be able to work forty (40) hours a week, overtime, and be on‑call as required.
Must be able to travel from time to time.
Basic knowledge of underground infrastructure.
Basic knowledge of Electromagnetic Theory.
Basic computer knowledge (email, Excel, software, PDF, KMZ, JPEG).
Must be able to work outside in the elements.
Excellent customer service skills.
Integrity and reliability.

Work Environment

Prolonged periods of driving, walking, and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
