Summary of DutiesThe Electronic Technician (I, II, III, IV) must possess minimum higher educational requirements, a thorough understanding of electricity/electronics, basic/accelerated wiring skills, the use of common/specialty hand tools and the use of general purpose test equipment. Tasks are accomplished as assigned by the Installation Supervisor and in accordance with company work instructions/NAVSEA standard items. Periodically required to lift/move equipment up to and including 50 pounds.
Additional duties and/or responsibilities of other positions may also be assigned for which qualifications are met to include Installation Supervisor on routine or low risk installations.
- Responsible for assisting in electrical/electronic installations, wiring of assemblies, and troubleshooting of cabling and equipment. Additional responsibilities could include opening as well as closing cableways, cable trunks, and multi cable transits; transporting material/tools to and from the worksite; standing fire watch; painting; lagging; and assisting in weld preparation/fit up. Must be extremely familiar with systems removal and installation to include but not limited to:
- HVAC ducting, piping etc
- Cabling (copper and fiber)
- Equipment racks
- Lockers/Furniture
- Fiddle boards
- Connection boxes
- Power panels
- Lighting
- Antennas/Radomes
- Foundations
- Waveguide
- Decking
- Multi pin/Fiber Optic/RF and other type connectors
- Cable tags/Wire markers
- Provide installation assistance during SOVT
- Perform any other assignments or tasks as needed or requested by management to assist in accomplishing the organization's mission, objectives and goals.
- Overtime is routinely required but not guaranteed.
- Travel outside the local area may be required.
- High School diploma or GED may be mandatory depending on contract stipulations.
- Associates degree or Bachelors degree in relatable electrical/electronic field. Military schooling, depending on scope and relevance of training, may also suffice.
- Non-degreed personnel may qualify, depending on depth of electrical/electronic knowledge and experience, however, must have a minimum of four (4) years technical experience in installation, modification, field change, systems operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and or repair of various military combat systems.
- High School diploma or GED may be mandatory depending on contract stipulations.
- Associates degree or Bachelors degree in relatable electrical/electronic field with two (2) years practical hands on experience. Military schooling, depending on scope and relevance of training, may also suffice.
- Non-degreed personnel may qualify, depending on depth of electrical/electronic knowledge and experience, however, must have a minimum of five (5) years technical experience in installation, modification, field change, systems operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and or repair of various military combat systems.
- High School diploma or GED may be mandatory depending on contract stipulations.
- Associates degree or Bachelors degree in relatable electrical/electronic field with four (4) years practical hands on experience. Military schooling, depending on scope and relevance of training, may also suffice.
- Non-degreed personnel may qualify, depending on depth of electrical/electronic knowledge and experience, however, must have a minimum of six (6) years technical experience in installation, modification, field change, systems operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and or repair of various military combat systems.
- High School diploma or GED may be mandatory depending on contract stipulations.
- Associates degree or Bachelors degree in relatable electrical/electronic field with four (4) years practical hands on experience. Military schooling, depending on scope and relevance of training, may also suffice.
- Non-degreed personnel may qualify, depending on depth of electrical/electronic knowledge and experience, however, must have a minimum of seven (7) years technical experience in installation, modification, field change, systems operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and or repair of various military combat systems.
- Clearance up to Secret level may be required.
- Cableway certification
- Multi-pin connector certification
- Fiber Optic connector certification
- Fire watch certification
Job Requirements
Physical requirements include the following:
- Lifting/moving up to and including 50 pounds
- Routinely climbing several flights of stairs
- Performing tasks in confined spaces
Our work is primarily onboard naval vessels that may include variables of physical activity, i.e. stooping, climbing, walking, etc.
