• Assemble and install solar panels on roofs.
• Configure PV systems based on site conditions and customers' needs and expectations; connect panels to the power grid.
• Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety.
• Complete projects within established policies and procedures.
• Ensure that equipment is weather‑sealed.
• Perform routine maintenance on PV systems.
• Assist the electrician with connecting PV panels to the electrical system.
• Train crew members up to speed on all components utilized during installation (procedures, tools, lines of communication, etc.).
• Check out provided jobs (pack out) before leaving the warehouse each morning to ensure provided material.
• Review plans and count parts from the plan set to verify BOM.
• Conduct final system walkthrough with the customer ensuring quality and aesthetic of install.
• Maintain cleanliness of job site and installation vehicles.
• Follow and actively enforce all OSHA and ION safety guidelines at the site, including attending weekly safety meetings and safety inspections per ION policy.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to read building plans.
• Ability to read equipment manuals.
• Ability to use hand and power tools to install PV panels.
• Ability to use ION technology, such as smartphones, Paycom, Field Pro, Sales Force, etc.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Solar install experience required.
• Vocational or technical school training preferred.

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a clean driving record as determined by a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

• Must be able to work at great heights.
• Must tolerate prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time.

Installation is done outdoors. Installers work on rooftops but also sometimes work in attics and crawl spaces to connect panels to the electrical grid. Installers work as part of a team. Installation of solar panels requires the help of technicians and electricians.
