Commercial Electrician
This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and critical power environments. You will read and interpret blueprints, lay out work for execution, and lead helpers to complete projects safely, accurately, and on schedule while adhering to all applicable electrical codes and standards.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute electrical installations and repairs.
- Lay out work for the execution of electrical projects, ensuring materials, tools, and resources are organized and available.
- Lead and guide helpers in the completion of electrical tasks, providing direction and support to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Install, bend, and run conduit and pipe, including EMT and rigid conduit, in accordance with project requirements and codes.
- Perform rough-in wiring, including pulling, routing, and securing wires for commercial and industrial installations.
- Install, replace, and troubleshoot switches, light fixtures, and other electrical devices and components.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical equipment and systems in commercial, industrial, and critical power environments.
- Use appropriate tools and electrical testing equipment to verify proper operation and ensure safe, code-compliant installations.
- Apply knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes to ensure all work meets regulatory and safety requirements.
- Interpret and follow schematics and construction documents to complete installations and modifications accurately.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with fellow employees and customers to maintain safe, efficient, and satisfactory work conditions.
- Perform any other duties or assignments as management deems necessary to support project completion and operational needs.
- Proven experience as a commercial electrician, mechanic, or journeyman-level electrician.
- Demonstrated ability to run conduit, including EMT and rigid conduit, in commercial and industrial settings.
- Strong skills in conduit bending and pipe bending using appropriate tools and methods.
- Hands-on experience with wiring, including rough-in work and installation of light fixtures and switches.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and critical power environments.
- Solid understanding of local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Proficiency in using electrical tools and testing equipment safely and effectively.
- Capability to lead helpers or crew members and coordinate daily tasks on site.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and interact with customers.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working as a foreman, electrician, mechanic, or journeyman on construction projects.
- Experience in industrial and construction environments, including power electric and critical power systems.
- Familiarity with schematics and construction documentation for complex electrical installations.
- Ability to adapt to changing project needs and perform additional assignments as required.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based on a construction site located on a base, working Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work in an active construction environment, performing installations and troubleshooting in commercial and industrial settings.
