Fire Suppression Mechanic
We are seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Mechanic to support the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire protection and suppression systems. This position will primarily involve hands-on work in marine and industrial environments.
Responsibilities- Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire suppression and detection systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fire protection equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and system-related issues.
- Work with various fire suppression systems, including CO2, Halon, FM-200, AFFF, and related systems.
- Perform hands-on work aboard vessels and in industrial environments.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Follow established safety procedures and complete required service documentation.
- Travel as needed, including occasional international travel.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience with fire suppression, fire protection, mechanical systems, or a related field.
- Ability to perform hands-on installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair work.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in marine, industrial, outdoor, and other physically demanding environments.
- Navy, Coast Guard, shipyard, or marine experience is a plus.
