Job Responsibilities- Perform multi-pass SMAW tack welding with consistency and high quality.
- Use oxygen/propane torches for cutting and heating materials.
- Interpret complex structural drawings, weld symbols, and blueprints with a strong understanding of fabrication requirements.
- Accurately work with fractional measurements and lay out steel components to precise specifications.
- Fit, align, and assemble structural steel parts and components.
- Operate vibratory tools including grinders and needle guns.
- Work safely and effectively in demanding shipyard and heavy fabrication environments.
Shipfitting experience in shipbuilding, marine, or heavy industrial settings
Strong blueprint and weld symbol interpretation skills
Experience with SMAW tack welding and torch cutting/heating
Comfortable working in physically demanding environments
Ability to travel and work at either project location
Compensation & Benefits- $140/day Per Diem

This is a Contract position based out of Chesapeake, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
