Fleet Services is currently hiring a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician
.

Responsibilities (DUTIES)
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of truck equipment including electrical, braking, cooling systems, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, differentials, and more.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, air conditioning systems, engine electronics, transmissions, and other components.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments.
  • Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
  • Identify problems, evaluate information, and generate/assess alternatives.
  • Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
  • Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections.
  • Communicate with clients to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, and meet expectations.
  • Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work and time allocations.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks.
  • Document work according to company standards and upload photos, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using the TRAIT application on an iOS device.
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and other required documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Work with a high degree of independence and manage own daily schedule.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and work within or close to standard repair times.
  • Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for repairs.
  • Communicate with management and support teams to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve PO numbers, and discuss RO findings.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies, and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Maintain the company-issued service truck, conduct safety checks, and daily pre-/post-trip inspections.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' related experience. Other combinations may be considered (e.g., degree/certification beyond HS or 5 years' related experience).
  • At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • OEM training and certifications are preferred.
  • Participate in and complete all required company training.
  • DOT/FMCSA regulations apply; ability to complete and pass a DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment. A current DOT medical card may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical if valid for more than four months; otherwise a DOT physical is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File.
  • Required certifications or obtained within 18 months: ASE T8 (PMI); ASE 608/609.
