Position Details

TITLE: Driver Warehouse Bobtail

LOCATION: Chesapeake, VA

POSITION

REPORTS TO:

Terminal Manager

SCHEDULE: 7:30am-4:00pm; some overtime and weekends may be required

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience, position and location

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver materials to customers according to schedule provided by supervisor
  • Validate delivery directions and confirm accuracy prior to departure
  • Unload or assist in unloading materials at customer locations, as required
  • Ensure materials are properly secured and within applicable weight limits
  • Provide delivery tickets and obtain customer signature upon delivery
  • Communicate with supervisor throughout the day regarding delivery status, delays, customer concerns or other issues
  • Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation regulations, company safety standards, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements
  • Deliver products on time while following all safe driving and delivery procedures
  • Operate company vehicles safely and courteously, recognizing that the vehicle and driver are visible representatives of Reladyne to customers and the public
  • Maintain required driving credentials and immediately report any changes in driving status, licensing, endorsements or medical certification
  • Pull customer orders accurately and prepare materials for shipment
  • Place materials in designated staging areas and return tickets to supervisor
  • Separate materials by shipping point, route, or customer order
  • Load outgoing shipments onto trucks safely and accurately
  • Receive incoming materials and unload shipments from trucks
  • Verify incoming deliveries and complete delivery receipts and receiving paperwork
  • Note damaged or shorted items on delivery receipts and obtain driver initials when required
  • Track, trace, and update status of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to support production schedules and operational needs
  • Stock and stage received materials in designated locations
  • Maintain clean, organized and safe receiving, shipping, staging, and warehouse areas
  • Organize pallets, supplies and support materials in a safe and efficient manner
  • Pick up customer returns and validate that returned product matches the credit request
  • Pick up local purchase orders, supplies or materials assigned
  • Secure and return packing lists, receipts, and related documentation
  • Verify that all materials have been unloaded and placed at the appropriate delivery site
  • Confirm customer signatures are obtained on delivery tickets
  • Review completed deliveries with supervisor for accuracy, completion and proper documentation
  • Return all delivery ticket copies and required paperwork to warehouse
  • Ensure delivery paperwork is complete, accurate and accounted for
  • Assist with general warehouse operations as needed
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and support positive customer relationships
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including all applicable safety standards
  • Perform job duties in a manner that does not endanger the health or safety of the associate, customers, coworkers, or members of the public
  • Communicate warehouse, delivery, inventory, equipment or safety concerns to supervisor in a timely manner
  • Support a team‑oriented work environment by demonstrating reliability, urgency, accountability and willingness to assist others
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned by manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum age 23
  • Residency within reasonable commuting distance
  • Valid Class A or Class B CDL and good understanding of DOT regulations
  • At least one year CDL driving experience
  • Ability to meet all applicable DOT, company and customer driving requirements
  • Verifiable clean MVR
  • Stable employment history
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Able to work in extreme weather conditions
  • English proficiency sufficient to perform essential functions of the role
  • Ability to accurately complete delivery tickets, receiving documents, shipping paperwork and other required documentation
