Position: Yard Laborer / Forklift Operator
Location: Chesapeake, VA
Schedule: Full Time
Pay: $17.50 per hour (starting)
Givens, a long‑standing provider of warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing, crating, and air freight services, has been growing rapidly since 1957.
Responsibilities- Secure freight to flat racks and open top containers.
- Operate 35k industrial forklifts as required.
- Clean out and maintain containers and work areas.
- Follow directions, work independently or in a team.
- Handle customer freight carefully.
- Experience moving heavy objects.
- Work outside in a warehouse yard, securing freight to ocean export containers (open top / flat rack).
- Unload import freight from ocean containers.
- Use chains/binders, strapping, tape measures, and power tools (nail guns/saws).
- Pay attention to detail and handle freight carefully.
- Be able to withstand outdoor conditions during all seasons.
This is a small‑business environment with opportunities for growth. Competitive compensation depends on experience. Pay starts at $17.50 per hour.
