A CDL - Vac Truck Operator at Vortex Companies is responsible for safely operating vacuum trucks and related equipment to support infrastructure maintenance, industrial cleaning, and environmental service projects. This role plays a critical part in sewer and storm system cleaning, hydro excavation, and the removal and transport of liquid and solid waste materials.
This position requires hands-on fieldwork in municipal, industrial, and construction environments, often involving confined spaces and high-pressure systems.
Key Responsibilities- Drive and operate sewer-cleaning pump trucks
- Perform general diagnostic and maintenance on waste systems
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Conduct pre-shift vehicle inspection
- Perform laborer duties as needed to ensure a timely and quality job and carry out special projects as assigned
- CDL License, Class A or B with medical card
- Previous experience working in the construction field
- A record of safe vehicle operation
- Possess a good driving record over the last 3 years and successful completion of a pre-employment background check, reference check, and drug screen.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday and can include shift work, weekends, evenings, holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.
