This is a physical job that requires someone to be safe and work in a team
environment. There is exposure to the environments all day - hot is hot, cold
is cold. We use wheel loaders, skid steers and excavators. Very important
aspect of the position is being open to a varying schedule due to barge and rail
timelines that align with customer needs. There could be early mornings or late
evening and weekend work. Every task is working within the team - the team
prides itself on looking after each other to ensure everyone is safe. An
average day will start with a team meeting to discuss upcoming loads, team
assignments into various areas of the distribution yard, and a safety talk. We
work together with a continuous improvement mindset.
*** Please note, you may be required to work occasionally Saturday and Sundays
for this position.
Qualifications
* Flexibility to work a varying schedule to include evenings and weekends when
necessary
* Previous experience working in a similar outdoor environment: plant,
construction site or distribution yard
* Previous experience running heavy equipment and working with hand tools
* Previous experience with rail or barge is a plus
* Welding and cutting a plus
