Overview
The Warehouse Specialist I is responsible for performing typical warehouse functions. The Warehouse Specialist I unloads/loads, receives, inspects, packages, and fulfills customer orders in accordance with contractual requirements.
ResponsibilitiesThis position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
- Unload and load product with carriers
- Inspect delivered product in accordance with established quality assurance processes to identify non-conforming product with a high level of accuracy
- Receive, accept, repackage, and store delivered conforming product
- Identify, research, and seek timely resolutions of material non-conformances in collaboration with stakeholders
- Pull, verify product conformity, implement customer contractual requirements, and package product to fill customer orders in accordance with contractual requirements in a timely manner
- Assist internal audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and integrity of data
- Assist with creation of shipping documents, stage product for carrier pickup, maintain shipping reports, and issue shipment notifications as directed by management
- Update and maintain accurate data in system(s) of record
- Follow all safety procedures, utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and employ proper material handling techniques during performance of all duties to prevent injury or product damages
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat by sweeping, dusting, and mopping. Always organize warehouse and work area for orderliness.

- Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills
- Dependable and reliable
- Must have a valid state driver’s license
- Must maintain current driver license to operate forklifts and other related equipment.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)
- Preferred Requirements:
- Forklift operator
- Previous warehouse experience preferred
- HAZMAT certification or experience preferred
- Understanding of shipping & receiving, inventory and distribution warehousing practices
- Familiar with inventory software, systems, and databases
- Experience operating manual and power pallet jacks, Material wrapping and banding machines
- Experience in Military (MIL-STD) packaging and labeling requirements
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail with a focus on quality results
- Working Environment:
- The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
- Physical Requirements:
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
