Salary: $90,000 - $115,000 per year

The Senior Tax Accountant is a full‑time position at a dynamic, fast‑growing yet intimate local CPA firm with potential to advance and possible ownership opportunities. - CTCPA society dues paid for by firm.
- Tax return preparation and tax planning analysis and projections.
- Overall management of client accounts, including handling routine client questions and working with clients to obtain necessary information for financial and tax return completion.
- Communicate improvement and business growth opportunity ideas regarding clients to management.
- Research IRS and state notices independently and represent before the IRS and CT Department of Revenue.
- Prepare accurate tax work papers.
- Conduct tax research for all situations.
- Assist other staff with software support in tax and accounting areas.
- Analyze income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management, including journal entries for monthly, quarterly and year‑end clients, bank and general ledger reconciliations, fixed asset maintenance.
- Supervise annual closing process for clients, including assisting personnel with accurate information verification, allocation, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Help build organization finance and accounting infrastructure and internal controls.
- Perform specific client internal control audits.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 3‑8 years of previous tax‑related experience.
- CPA earned or in progress.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Quick Books.
- Drake software experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and budgets.
- Perform complex financial analysis.
