The State of Connecticut, Department of Correction (DOC) Unified School District #1 seeking enthusiastic educators to teach a foreign language in the role of State School Teacher. Candidates must have a strong background in teaching foreign languages. Eligible candidates to teach Foreign Language must have one of the following CT Teaching Endorsement:
* French, 7-12 (018)
* German, 7-12 (019)
* Italian, 7-12 (020)
* Latin, 7-12 (021)
* Mandarin Chinese, 7-12 (318)
* Portuguese, 7-12 (317)
* Russian, 7-12 (022)
* Spanish, 7-12 (023)
* Other World Language, 7-12 (024)
* World Language Instructor - Elementary (101)
Please note we do not currently accept DSAP Certifications or any other short or long term permits. All Endorsements must be active Initial, Provisional, or Professional. to confirm you possess the appropriate license and that it is up-to-date.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
* SCHEDULE:
first-shift, full time (35 hours per week,) Monday through Friday
* ACADEMIC CALENDAR:
Unified School District (USD) #1 follows a 12-month school calendar, 222 school days per year.
* TRAINING:
Selected candidates may be required to present a lesson plan in front of students in one of our Correctional Facilities as part of the interview process. Candidates selected for hire, are required to attend a fourteen (14) week training at the CT DOC Training Academy. More details can be found in the 'Selection Plan' of this job bulletin.
* LOCATION:
Manson Youth Institution - Cheshire, CT
Candidates new to the State of Connecticut will start on 'Step one' of the pay plan, in the tier that their highest level of education corresponds to. Starting salary is non-negotiable. Salary details derived from the P-3B T1-T4 35 Hour Pay Plan are outlined below:
Bachelors Degree Masters Degree 6th Year Step 1 (minimum) $68,792 $ 72,241 $ 77,294 Step 11-14 (maximum) $104,174 $ 122,335 $ 130,898

The Connecticut Department of Correction (DOC) is the agency responsible for corrections in the U.S. State of Connecticut. The agency operates 13 correctional facilities. It has its headquarters in Wethersfield.
