Description
Elementary candidates should have experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities, knowledge of ABA strategies, DTI approach to teaching and learning, and experience with developing and implementing behavior intervention plans.
Duties include program development for individuals, assessment and data analysis, as well as participation in team meetings, PPTs and parent conferences. It is essential that the candidates demonstrate ability to write IEPs in accordance with state and federal mandates, case manage several special needs students in multiple grade levels, collaborate with several support services, and plan lessons for instructional assistants who work with specific students and groups of students.

In accordance with the Agreement Between Cheshire Board of Education and the Education Association of Cheshire.
BenefitChildren of a teacher who does not reside in Cheshire may attend the Cheshire Public Schools so long as the teacher continues to teach in Cheshire and pays 50% of the published regular education tuition cost, plus any additional costs incurred by the District regarding their child.
