Cheshire Public Schools has an opening for a Social Studies Teacher in our Middle School (grades 7-8) for the 2026/2027 school year. We hope that you consider applying.

Exciting opportunity for an individual who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, high energy level, creativity and the ability to work with all levels of students in a team teaching atmosphere. Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of and the ability to teach all levels of middle school social studies. The ability to create a positive, enthusiastic, dynamic classroom atmosphere implementing cooperative learning and participation in classroom activities is necessary.

Connecticut Teaching Certificate #025, #026, #226, #027 and expertise in curriculum sub-areas. Dual certifications in Core areas strongly preferred.

In accordance with the Agreement Between Cheshire Board of Education and the Education Association of Cheshire.

Children of a teacher who does not reside in Cheshire may attend the Cheshire Public Schools so long as the teacher continues to teach in Cheshire and pays 50% of the published regular education tuition cost, plus any additional costs incurred by the District regarding their child.
