ABA/DTI Para educator - Bridges Program
The Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA)/DTI Para educator works in a special education program with elementary aged children at Doolittle School with emotionally based disabilities under the direction of the special education teachers and school psychologist. The ABA/DTI Para educator will be able to:
- Implement individual and small group instruction to students with specific behavior programs
- Implement lesson plans developed by the special education teacher, school psychologist or BCBA to support student success in all school settings
- Be responsible for managing and organizing lesson materials, preparations and other functions to support each student's individualized education plan (IEP)
- Be responsible for data collection and maintaining documentation for each student
- Be responsible for following behavior intervention plans under the supervision of the school psychologist, BCBA and special education teacher
- Participate in ongoing professional learning
Supervised By:
Special Education Supervisor and/or School Principal
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a high school diploma. (New College Grads encouraged to apply!!! Good experience for future psychologists, social workers and special education teachers.) Preferred but not necessary:
Associates and/or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education or related field. Experience working directly with children with autism and/or behavioral challenges within a behavioral program preferred.
Salary:
In accordance with the Agreement Between Cheshire Board of Education and CSEA/SEIU Local 2001/760 in Behalf of the Cheshire Paraeducators and Lunchroom/Playground Aides. Starting Salary $25.18/hour. Benefits Available.
