Learning Support Tutor
The Learning Support Tutor provides intervention and instruction to students who are not yet performing at grade level in reading or math, and/or are multilingual learners requiring support with language acquisition. The LST works with individual students or small groups, and follows a schedule and protocol provided by certified teachers and the school principal. The LST is also responsible for progress monitoring assessments and data entry.
Significant training is provided in key areas of job responsibilities to best support student learning, including: understanding of reading and writing skill building; understanding of foundational math concepts; understanding of progress monitoring measures (e.g., phonics, reading fluency and comprehension); understanding of effective instructional strategies for multilingual learners. The LSTs have a positive impact on students, and the position is ideal for candidates looking to make such an impact.

Monday, Tuesday Thursday, 2 hours after school each day Supervised by:
School Principal and/or Assistant Superintendent and/or their designee.
Qualifications:
College degree (teaching certification preferred but not required) Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Willingness to be trained in key areas of job responsibilities Interest and/or experience working with elementary students Salary: $20/Hour for non-certified $23/hour for certified.
