Mechanical Design Engineer
Location:
Cheshire, CT.
Salary: $80-100K per year. In‑office position. No sponsorship opportunities.
Responsibilities- Produce 2D and 3D drawings using Solid Works and AutoCAD for high‑pressure gas and liquid systems, including cylinders, compressors, valves, manifolds, and instrumentation.
- Prepare P&IDs, CAD models, detailed assemblies, parts lists, and drawings that satisfy project and code requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, test, and document integrated industrial automation and control systems from concept through commercialization.
- Translate customer requirements and functional needs into technical solutions through brainstorming and feasibility studies.
- Design prototypes, test stands, and/or pilot plants to support the Stage‑Gate process.
- Create Bills of Materials, assembly instructions, and technical manuals.
- Provide technical assistance to manufacturing during system integration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2‑5 years of mechanical design experience, or an equivalent combination of education, academic projects, and hands‑on experience.
- Experience creating CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and P&IDs.
- Hands‑on and theoretical expertise in high‑pressure gas and liquid systems.
- Proficiency with Solid Works and AutoCAD.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with PDM systems.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, NFPA 55, NFPA 1, ANSI, API, ASTM G93, ASTM G94).
- Experience with robotics.
