IntroductionDo you possess a doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology with three (3) years of post‑doctoral experience? If so, the Connecticut Department of Correction invites you to join our behavioral health clinical leadership team as a Supervising Psychologist 2.

- Shift: First shift, full‑time, 40 hours per week (7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday)
- Location:
Manson Youth Institution, Cheshire, CT - This is a hazardous duty position with required 3.5‑week training at the Maloney Center.
- Regional behavioral health oversight for Manson Youth Institution, Cheshire Correctional Institution and New Haven Correctional Center
- Clinical oversight of the behavioral health teams (supervision of Supervising Psychologists, clinical social workers, professional counselors)
- Primary point of contact for behavioral health matters (DOJ, administrative oversight, hiring, scheduling) for the MYI team
- Member of the statewide behavioral health care system supervisory group of regional supervising psychologists
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state statutes, consent decrees, settlement agreements regarding mental health services to youth and young adult offenders
- Direct supervision of the behavioral health team at Manson Youth Institution
The Department of Correction seeks to lead progressive correctional practices and re‑entry initiatives, supporting evidence‑based practices that facilitate reintegration and reduce recidivism while maintaining safety, security, and respect for all individuals.
Qualifications- Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology
- Three (3) years of post‑doctoral experience as a licensed clinical psychologist
- License to practice psychology in Connecticut (or exemption if employed before July 1, 1985)
- Knowledge of abnormal and clinical psychology, psychological testing, research design, and data analysis
- Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to diagnose, develop treatment plans, conduct psychotherapy, interface with multidisciplinary programs, and supervise staff
- Experience with forensic or justice‑involved clients
- Experience supervising psychologists or licensed mental health professionals
- Experience working within a bargaining unit workplace
- Maintaining eligibility for federal health care programs (42 U.S.C. §1320a‑7b(f))
- May require fluency in a foreign language or proficiency in American Sign Language
- May require travel
