SENIOR LIBRARY ASSOCIATE - TECHNOLOGYThe Town of Cheshire seeks candidates to apply for the position of Senior Library Associate (L-4) in our Technology department. A copy of the job description is attached.
Join a busy Technology department responsible for providing technology support to both staff and library patrons. Working under the supervision of the Technology Coordinator, the Senior Library Associate – Technology will be primarily responsible for the set‑up, installation and troubleshooting library computers and other related library technologies, conducting routine software and hardware maintenance and upgrades, updating the library website, and leading one‑on‑one technology training and group classes for patrons at the library and at partner organizations.
The position also works daily shifts at the children’s, circulation, and reference service desks.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team‑player with excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills and knowledge of current and emerging technologies, particularly as they are applied in a public library setting. Candidates should have broad knowledge of common hardware and software, including Windows and Mac operating systems, mobile devices, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace, as well as Android and iOS apps.
Teaching experience is highly preferred. Skills in digital media, web design, graphic design, and marketing are a plus. To be considered for this position, the applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of relevant technology and library experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Rate: $34.04 per hour, 35 hour work week, with two evening shifts and Saturdays in rotation.
