The Inspection Team Leader provides overall leadership and supervision of the Inspection Team. They are responsible, in conjunction with Facility Leadership, for Team Member hiring development, corrective actions, and separations. This position is also responsible for inspection Key Performance Indicators and expense control.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently communicate and model the vision and goals of Whole Foods Market.
  • Interview, select, train, develop and counsel Team Members and Team Leaders in a manner which builds and sustains a high performing team and minimizes turn over.
  • Establish and maintain a positive work environment, which sustains an exceptionally high level of Team Member morale.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality standards for all inbound produce.
  • Responsible for contacting and securing USDA inspections when necessary.
  • Responsible for all ripening processes.
  • Continually seek out new ways to improve produce inspection processes, communication and reporting to support operations.
  • Provide timely, thorough and thoughtful job dialogues.
  • Work collaboratively with Team Member Services on Team Member relations including proper documentation, investigations and corrective action. Make separation decisions with guidance of Team Member Services and Facility Leadership.
  • Communicate and maintain Team Member safety and security standards.
  • Project annual productivity targets and labor expenses.
  • Accurately tracks and documents Team Member productivity.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationship with the DC Procurement team, Global Procurement, Facility Leadership, Team Leaders and Team Members.
  • Provide accurate, complete information in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports, as required.
  • Model and cultivate effective intra-facility and inter-facility communication.
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive vendor relationships.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with relevant regularity rules and standards, including: OSHA, FMLA, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation, FDA, Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures
  • Schedule and attend all Team and Facility meetings.

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in approach with all paperwork
