We’re looking for a Laser Team Leader to oversee our CNC laser cutting department, leading a team of operators working on Trumpf Laser machines. What

You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead and coordinate a team of CNC laser operators, ensuring production runs smoothly.
  • Plan and organise shift patterns, overtime, and daily work schedules.
  • Make sure production targets, quality standards, and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Monitor machine performance and coordinate both planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment, promoting strong H&S awareness.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Work closely with production planners, engineers, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve output.
  • Train, mentor, and assess team members, helping them build their skills and confidence.
  • Help identify process improvements and contribute to the department’s ongoing development.
  • Initially working day shift whilst in training, then will move to shift working (6-2 and/or 2-10).

Technical Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience operating and setting Trumpf CNC laser machines (essential).
  • Strong understanding of laser cutting parameters, materials, and nesting software.
  • Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and CAD files.
  • Familiar with ERP systems and production tracking tools.
  • Experienced in basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication and production workflows in a manufacturing environment.
