What You Will Do
The Lead Technician will perform a variety of tasks ranging from fabrication, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical and electro‑mechanical equipment. They will demonstrate knowledge in all types of electronic test equipment and, using schematics and prints, identify the root cause of failures down to the component level. Responsibilities include selection and ordering of replacement components required for repairs, preparation of reports, and development of procedures.
The technician is expected to learn the operation of all test machines and conduct repairs as necessary to pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electro‑mechanical, and electrical systems, and set up test stations efficiently per engineering or divisional instruction.
- AA/AS degree (or equivalent 2‑year post‑high‑school training) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledgeable in all types of electronic test equipment and the use of schematics to identify failure root causes to the component level.
- Ability to program PLCs.
- Experience with Lab View or Visual Basic.
