Production Associate; Cylinder Loader

Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) – Cheshire, CT

Airgas is hiring a Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) to perform loading and unloading of high‑pressure and liquid cylinders on and off trucks at our Cheshire, CT plant. This role works the 2nd Shift (10:00a.m.–6:30p.m.) Monday through Friday and offers a pay rate of $22 per hour.

• Load and unload high‑pressure and liquid cylinders on/off trucks in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Inspect cylinders before and after loading to ensure safety standards and company procedures are met.
• Maintain accurate records of cylinder types and quantities.
• Securely strap cylinders on pallets and ensure stable vehicle loading.
• Use forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, and chain hoist as required to transport cylinders.
• Perform minor equipment maintenance and detailed cylinder inspection.
• Segregate out‑of‑test or defective cylinders and prepare cylinders for reuse.
• Assist teammates with additional duties to support a safe work environment.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and percentages).
• 1+ year of related technical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of OSHA and Airgas safety programs.

• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
