Computer Numerical Control Programmer

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer (3-Axis)

to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining high-precision 3-axis CNC programs specifically for machining complex forging dies utilized in the automotive and aerospace industries.

• Create accurate 3-axis CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, or WorkNC) from 3D models and blueprints.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, feed rates, and spindle speeds tailored for hard metal machining and die steels.
• Optimize toolpaths to minimize cycle times, reduce tool wear, and ensure superior surface finishes.
• Perform virtual manufacturing simulations to verify programs and eliminate the risk of machine collisions.
• Translate complex engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications into flawless machining routines.
• Develop specialized programs for roughing, semi-finishing, and high-speed finishing of intricate forging die cavities.
• Collaborate with mold/die makers to understand parting lines, draft angles, and shut-off surfaces essential for aerospace and automotive standards.

• Establish standard setup sheets, tool lists, and work instructions for CNC operators.
• Conduct first-article inspections and monitor machined dimensions using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, CMM reports).
• Troubleshoot programming and machining variances on the shop floor to maintain strict tight-tolerance requirements.
• Maintain a structured revision-control database for all CNC programs and manufacturing documentation.

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in CNC programming, specifically focused on 3-axis machining of tooling, molds, or forging dies.
• Industry Context: Proven track record working with high-strength alloys and tool steels common in automotive and aerospace manufacturing.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced expertise in CAM software (Mastercam, Siemens NX, WorkNC, or equivalent) and solid understanding of CAD modeling.
