Summer Seasonal
Volunteers deliver a hot lunch and optional cold dinner to homebound seniors in Delaware County, providing safety checks and smiles to grateful clients. Mileage reimbursement is available.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSVolunteers must be able to drive their own cars, or ride along and assist a driver. Volunteers make frequent stops, requiring getting in and out of the car, sometimes in inclement weather. Must be able to navigate steps and uneven terrain while carrying a basket of food items.
TRAININGSourcePoint Volunteer Orientation, Meals On Wheels volunteer training, and annual nutrition department training.
TIME COMMITMENTThe time frame is approximately 10:30am-12:30pm. A typical volunteer delivers the same route one time per week. Other options include on-call substituting or seasonal short-term substituting. SourcePoint does not deliver Meals on weekends or major holidays.
LOCATIONVarious routes throughout Delaware County. Most routes start and end at SourcePoint’s Cheshire Rd location, with the exception of two routes in Sunbury and two routes in Delaware.
DRESS CODECasual and weather-appropriate. SourcePoint t-shirt and badge recommended.
SUPPORTThe Nutrition Program Supervisor supports SourcePoint’s Meals On Wheels volunteers.
