Children and Young People Support Worker

Your Role

  • Provide warm, consistent, and person-centred support tailored to each young person's individual needs
  • Follow care and support plans to help children and young people feel safe and understood
  • Encourage independence, positive relationships, and engagement in education and activities
  • Support young people through emotional and behavioural challenges with patience, empathy, and understanding
  • Maintain clear and accurate records to ensure continuity of care
  • Always promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people
  • Reassure young people by providing a stable, caring, and secure environment
  • Support with transport to school, appointments, family contact, and activities
  • Work closely with families, colleagues, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes

About You

  • At least 6-12 months' paid experience supporting children and young people aged 0-17 in the UK
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this
  • A genuine passion for caring for and supporting children and young people
  • A calm, patient, and reliable approach, especially during challenging situations
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, solution-focused mindset
  • Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
  • A full UK driving licence (preferred)
  • Enhanced DBS (Child & Adult workforce); update service preferred
