HGV Technician

Commutable from Washington, Durham, Chester-Le-Street, Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and surrounding areas.

This is a permanent position paying up to £44k

Questech Automotive Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician to join a market leader in vehicle manufacturing.

This is to work in a brand new Workshop where the business have invested in new equipment and facilities.

This would suit and experienced or appreciate training HGV Technician who is looking for a local permanent position.

This is a Monday to Friday position with no weekend working or on-call.

This role will be 45 hours per week | between 07:00 and 16:30 Monday to Friday.

The person:

* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance

* Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing

* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

* Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams

* Excellent communication and customer service skills

* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

* Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime

* Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus

The Role:

* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment

* Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspections

* Complete body and chassis repairs and ensure compliance with Department of Transport specifications

* Maintain accurate records and enter job details into company systems

* Liaise professionally with customers and work independently at customer sites

* Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to company standards

* Follow health and safety procedures and conduct risk assessments where required

* Undertake training to enhance technical skills and knowledge
