Full Time-Exempt Clerical Chester, IL, US
Salary Range: $72,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually
Memorial Hospital, a rural Critical Access Hospital, is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting support, audit preparation, and financial analysis. This position works closely with the CFO and serves as a key member of the Finance team.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and financial reporting.
- Prepare month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and Board reports.
- Coordinate annual operating and capital budgets.
- Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with audits, Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, and regulatory reporting.
- Oversee Accounts Payable processes and supervise the Accounts Payable Specialist.
- Monitor cash management, contractual allowances, bad debt, and other financial analyses.
- Support charge master reviews and reimbursement-related activities.
- Perform CFO duties in the CFO's absence.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Minimum one year of hospital or non-governmental accounting experience, or two years of public/private accounting experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, formulas, and reporting tools.
Preferred:
- Master's degree and/or CPA designation.
- Healthcare finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial controls.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Compliance with COVID-19 and annual flu vaccination requirements (or approved exemption).
- PTO earned per hour .085 up to 8.32 bi-weekly.
