Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Support Service Coordinator I for the Chester Mental Health Center located in Chester, Illinois to serve on an assigned shift, notifying the Business Manager and the Property Control Clerk before any inventoried items can be moved for repairs or any other reason. The coordinator prepares a weekly work schedule for staff, instructs staff in the appropriate methods of cleaning patient rooms, living areas, restrooms, dining areas and recreation areas, places orders with the General Store to maintain adequate stock of supplies, and serves as lead worker to lower‑level housekeeping staff on an assigned shift.
Essential Functions- On an assigned shift, notify the Business Manager and the Property Control Clerk before any inventoried items can be moved for repairs or any other reason.
- Serve as the designated lead worker.
- Instruct staff in the appropriate methods of cleaning.
- Place orders with the General Store.
- Assist the supervisor in system and procedure development to verify the most efficient combination of labor, supplies and equipment is realized.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
- Two (2) years of experience in a support service provider level in one of the support service functional areas.
- Ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
- Pass the IDHS background check.
- Pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
Work Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 7:00am - 3:00pm, 30 minute paid lunch
