Registered Dietitian; RD- Contract Consultant

Overview

DiningRD is actively seeking a Registered Dietitian for a Behavioral Health Facility. The consultant would be responsible for 40 hours a month onsite visits to complete food safety and sanitation audit, meal/dining observation audit, and any nutrition referrals for high-risk residents.

• Provide food safety and sanitation audits, meal/dining observation audits, and nutrition referrals for high-risk residents (40 hours per month onsite).
• Work closely with the clinical team to monitor residents  nutritional needs and ensure meals meet high nutritional standards.
• Provide nutrition education, contribute to MDS processes with input from the dining manager, and formulate nutrition assessments as part of the care plan.
• Offer guidance on dining services, including meal rounds and sanitation best practices, and ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Train and mentor dining managers and staff, assist with policy development, and monitor the implementation of effective nutritional care systems.
• Collaborate with the eating and dining team to support a positive, compliant, and high-quality dining environment for residents.

• Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentials
• Licensed (if required by state)
• Experience:
  
  2 years of consulting experience preferred; long-term care experience preferred but not required

This position offers some flexibility within a Monday–Friday schedule.

• Clinical nutrition: 2 years (preferred)

• CDR number from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Required)
• State license, if required for a Registered Dietitian (Required)
