This role provides electrical instruction and oversees daily training that strengthens both safety and skill development. As a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:
- Electrical Instruction: Teach electrical trade practices in both classroom and on-the-job settings
- Training Oversight: Guide inmate work crews and monitor progress, attendance, and daily assignments
- Work Inspection: Review completed electrical work to ensure safety, accuracy, and proper technique
- Tool Management: Issue, track, and secure tools and materials needed for training and work assignments
- Material Planning: Identify required materials and submit purchase requests to support electrical projects

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,036.00 (before taxes). A higher salary may be established in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Five years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment used in buildings; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the electrical trade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the electrical trade.
Other Requirements:

- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
