Location: Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania
Position Type: Full-Time

About the Empowered Program:
The Empowered Program at MVP Recovery is a compassionate, family-centered initiative designed to support parents and caregivers of children struggling with addiction. Our goal is to provide education, peer-based support, and a safe space for families to navigate the chaos and heartbreak of a loved one's substance use. We believe recovery is a community process-and that includes families too.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an empathetic and dedicated Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) to support family members-primarily parents-impacted by their child's substance use. The CRS will serve as a peer advocate, resource connector, and emotional support, helping families understand addiction, access treatment, and maintain their own wellness through the process.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide peer support, education, and empowerment to parents and caregivers.

  • Facilitate individual and group sessions focused on family recovery, boundaries, and self-care.

  • Support families in navigating treatment options and community resources.

  • Collaborate with MVP clinical and outreach staff to identify family needs and service coordination.

  • Advocate for family inclusion in treatment planning when appropriate.

  • Maintain documentation in accordance with program and confidentiality guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • CRS certification in Pennsylvania required.

  • Personal experience as a parent/family member of someone in recovery or with lived experience preferred.

  • Strong listening, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage emotional content and provide nonjudgmental support.

  • Organized and reliable with a passion for family-centered care.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary and benefits

  • Flexible work schedule

  • Supportive work culture focused on professional development and lived experience

  • Opportunity to be a pioneer in an expanding, innovative family support program
