Are you a catering supervisor looking for a change? This role offers a dynamic environment at Chester University with a fast-moving, creative catering operation that blends street food concepts with European-inspired counters. You will be part of delivering prestigious catering events in Chester & Cheshire, from high-level afternoon teas to conferences, banqueting and weddings. The position emphasizes hands-on leadership and a role where you lead from the front in a team-driven setting.

• Lead and manage a team (up to 9 at a time) across catering operations
• Manage rotas and holidays to ensure smooth shifts and coverage
• Maintain food safety and allergen controls
• Handle stock, ordering, and keep workflows flowing
• Support service wherever needed and maintain high standards
• Make operational decisions, solve problems, and step up when senior managers are unavailable
• Collaborate with a large team of chefs, catering assistants, porters and baristas to deliver consistent results

• Experience in Pub, restaurant, busy fast food, or demanding contract catering kitchens
• Hospitality experience—front of house, back of house, or both
• Calm under pressure; able to adapt and resolve issues as they arise
• Attention to detail (noticing queues, gaps in the team, or service slips)
• Leads by example and takes pride in standards
• Chef background is a plus

• Salary: £25,550 - £26,950
• Hours:
  
  36.5 per week
• Shifts:
  
  8am-4pm or 12pm-8pm
• Weekends: 1 in 4
• Contract:
  
  Temp to perm (try it, see it, feel it before committing)
