An Electrician Tester on a UK-based Energy from Waste (EfW) site tests and certifies electrical systems and equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Testing and Certification:
Conducting electrical tests (e.g., insulation resistance, continuity) and issuing certificates (e.g., PAT, BS 7671)
- Fault Finding:
Identifying and reporting electrical faults or defects
- Compliance:
Ensuring electrical work meets UK regulations (e.g., Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, BS 7671)
- Documentation:
Maintaining accurate test records and reports
- Collaboration:
Working with electricians, engineers, and project teams
Typically requires:
- Electrical trade qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2391)
- Experience with electrical testing and certification
- UK electrical certification (e.g., ECS card, NICEIC certification)
