We're looking for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a growing Facilities Management business supporting major retail sites across the Chester region.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company with long‑term contracts, a supportive team and a regional patch that allows you to manage your own workload while enjoying the variety of a mobile role.
You'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial gas systems across multiple retail sites, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and fully operational. The RoleYou'll travel between retail sites within your region, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and servicing on a range of commercial gas appliances and systems.
Working independently throughout the day, you'll be supported by an experienced scheduling and operations team while delivering a high standard of service to customers.
Key Responsibilities- Service, maintain and repair commercial gas appliances and systems.
- Carry out gas testing, purging, fault finding and diagnostics.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with current gas safety regulations and company procedures.
- Produce accurate service reports, certification and compliance documentation.
- Support general Facilities Management tasks where required.
- Provide a professional service to customers on site.
- Participate in the regional on‑call rota.
To be considered, you'll ideally have:
- Proven experience working on commercial gas systems.
- Strong fault‑finding, diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience working in a mobile service or maintenance role.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A professional and customer‑focused approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience working within Facilities Management or retail environments.
- Multi‑skilled experience in air conditioning, electrical or general building maintenance.
- Willingness to undertake further training and development.
- Company vehicle provided.
- Paid on‑call rota with retainer and enhanced overtime rates.
