Location: Cheshire West and Chester
The Role:
You will be operating a 360 tracked excavator (14t - 25t) on deep drainage installations in open-cut and supported excavations. Working closely with pipelayers, banksman and site engineer to install foul and surface water systems accurately to line and level.
Key Duties:
Operating 360 excavator for deep trench excavation, typically 2.5m - 6m deep Installing concrete / plastic / clay pipes, chambers, manholes, and attenuation systems
Working to drawings, levels, and laser / GPS guidance
Safe installation / extraction of trench support systems – trench sheets, drag boxes, manhole boxes, walings
Trimming, grading and preparing formation levels for pipe bedding
Lifting operations using certified lifting points and quick-hitch – slinging and handling pipes/chambers
Carrying out daily machine checks, greasing, and maintaining plant in safe working order
Working around existing services – identifying and protecting utilities (HSG
47)
Adhering to all health & safety, method statements and permit-to-dig systems
Assisting ground workers when required and keeping excavation secure
Essential Requirements:
Valid CPCS or NPORS (with CSCS logo) – A58/A59 360 Excavator 10T+ - Lifting Ops essential
Proven experience in DEEP DRAINAGE – not just foundations / muck shifting
Experience with trench support systems and deep excavations
Good understanding of levels, pipe lasers, and working to gradients
Valid safety critical medical / fit to work
Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
Right to work in UK Desirable:
National Water Hygiene Card (blue card)
SSSTS / CSCSConfined Space – Medium Risk / City & Guilds Slinger / Signaller A40A ticket
First Aid at Work Experience on 8T to 30T machines, with tilt-rotator / Engcon experience a plus Personal Attributes:
Safety-first mindset, comfortable stopping work if unsafe
Good communicator with pipelayers and banksman
Able to work in all weathers and at depth
Reliable, punctual, takes pride in neat, accurate work
