Practical Nursing 9-month Faculty (F0200)

Brightpoint Community College invites applications for a full‑time, practical nursing faculty position. The instructor will teach a diverse range of nursing courses delivered in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online formats.

Full‑time teaching responsibilities include instruction equivalent to 15 credit hours per semester, actively engaging students, providing clinical supervision, and contributing to course and curriculum development. Faculty members are also responsible for student advising and maintaining accurate student records.

Faculty also participate in nursing program development and evaluation, contribute to college activities and committees, and represent Brightpoint Community College in community and professional settings.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required (must be enrolled in a Master’s degree program).
• Minimum five years of nursing experience, including medical‑surgical and/or pediatric nursing.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to teach a variety of course formats—day, evening, weekend, hybrid, and/or online—at any college location or clinical site.
• Current Commonwealth of Virginia nursing license or compact state nursing license.
• Commitment to the community college mission and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Master’s degree.
• College‑level teaching experience.
• Experience using instructional technology.
• Knowledge of Virginia BON regulations and ACEN accreditation criteria.
