Brightpoint Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education located in the Greater Richmond metropolitan area, serving students and the community across its Chester and Midlothian campuses, online, and throughout its service area. General InformationThe Division of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences augments its full-time teaching faculty with qualified part-time instructors. Adjunct faculty teaching is limited to a maximum of 8 credit hours in the summer semester, 12 credit hours in the fall semester, and 12 credit hours in the spring semester. These limits are the total number of credits taught in the Virginia Community Colleges System (VCCS).
Additional restrictions may apply depending on other positions occupied within VCCS.
- Provide online or traditional (on-campus) delivery instruction on either the Chester or Midlothian campus. Courses offered include Introduction to the Study of Religion, Religions of the World, and Survey of the New Testament.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned and may be required to assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Qualifications- Minimum of a master’s degree in the discipline or in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in Religion.
- Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
- Ability to use instructional technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
