Job Overview

Taylor Robinson Music is hiring private music instructors, especially for Voice, to provide lessons in the Chester, VA area. Our motto, "Learn to Play From the Heart," guides our approach to music education. We provide students, advertising, marketing, and billing support so you can focus on teaching.

Independent contractor, $20–$30 per hour based on travel time, experience/education, and student retention. You set your own schedule and curriculum.

Lessons can be held in students' homes, your own home or studio/rehearsal space, or via webcam. Most students prefer in‑person lessons; local instructors who can host or travel to students in the Chester area are required.

• Teach private music lessons, primarily voice, to students of all ages and skill levels.
• Develop and deliver curriculum and lesson plans that meet student needs.
• Maintain timely and clear communication with our office and students.
• Ensure a safe learning environment, wearing masks, sanitizing hands, and practicing social distancing as necessary.

• Formal music training is not mandatory, but a degree in music, enrollment in a music program, professional performing experience, or previous teaching experience is required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with punctuality for all lessons.
• A passion for music and teaching, and ability to connect with students.

Students generally prefer in‑person lessons; instructors must wear masks, sanitize hands, and maintain social distancing when applicable.
