About the College
Brightpoint Community College is a two‑year public institution of higher education and the third largest of Virginia’s 23 community colleges. Located within the Greater Richmond metropolitan area, it serves students and the community at its two campuses in Chester and Midlothian; online; and in locations throughout its service area. Responsibilities- Provide traditional delivery instruction (not virtual) on either the Chester or Midlothian campus.
- Teach courses in Financial and Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Taxation, Non‑Profit and Government Accounting, Advanced Accounting, and Auditing.
- Complete and pass a criminal background check.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in the specific discipline.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
- Ability to use instructional technologies.
- Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check.
Adjunct faculty teaching is limited to a maximum of 8 credit hours in the summer semester, 12 credit hours in the fall semester, and 12 credit hours in the spring semester. These limits apply to the total number of credit hours taught in the Virginia’s Community Colleges (VCCS). Additional restrictions may apply depending on other positions occupied within VCCS.
