Position: Environmental Compliance Coordinator (Intermediate and Senior level) Chester, VA

Job Summary

Ensures company compliance with environmental, chemical management, waste management, and permit regulations at a specific work location or with contracted assets at multiple sites. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the work site to meet regulatory and company standards. Serves as liaison with external and governmental agencies, coordinates with operations and maintenance personnel, and provides site compliance recommendations and management reports.

Acts as primary site coordinator with internal departments and external agencies on environmental, safety, and chemical management issues. Serves as the community contact to resolve complaints; procures services or materials for environmental and safety programs; coordinates hazardous waste disposal; provides training to site personnel; evaluates new regulations and coordinates compliance plans; identifies potential safety risks and recommends corrective measures; monitors and evaluates safety gaps between Dominion and contracted assets.

Qualifications
  • Environmental Compliance Coordinator: 3+ years of related experience. For a Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree: 5+ years of directly related experience. For a high school diploma/GED: 7+ years of directly related experience and a valid driver’s license.
  • Senior Environmental Compliance Coordinator: 5+ years of directly related experience. For a Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree: 7+ years of directly related experience. For a high school diploma/GED: 9+ years of directly related experience and a valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge and

    Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of related environmental regulations and permits.
    • Proven ability to develop, implement, and administer complex environmental compliance plans.
    • Ability to interpret environmental requirements and translate regulatory and permit requirements into understandable guidance.
    • Ability to prepare and review compliance documents and reports.
    • Strong technical writing, communication, and public relations skills.
    • Strong data analysis and record‑keeping skills.
    • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Excellent organizational, time‑management, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work independently and self‑directed.
    • Ability to work in field environments and manage contract resources.
    • Diplomatic handling of sensitive situations with regulatory agencies, the public, and company personnel at all levels.
Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education. Preferred disciplines include Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, and Science. Other disciplines may be substituted if they provide an equivalent level of expertise.
