Overview
The Hired Bar has been engaged to support the search for a Mechanical Engineer
- Farm Systems on behalf of an innovative, fast-growing ag-tech company redefining how food is produced. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, automation, and agriculture, supporting both current farm operations and the design and build-out of next-generation facilities. If you enjoy solving complex systems problems, working cross-functionally, and having a direct impact on how cutting-edge operations are designed and scaled—this role offers that and more.
You'll DoFarm Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and optimize HVAC and environmental systems performance
- Analyze system data and provide recommendations to improve yield, quality, and efficiency
- Build and maintain dashboards and performance tracking tools
- Troubleshoot complex systems including chillers, pumps, and building automation systems (BAS)
- Support maintenance and equipment reliability initiatives
- Contribute to farm design, modeling, and techno-economic analysis
- Support project execution, including vendor coordination, procurement, and commissioning
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with engineering, R&D, and external partners
- Help define future farm architecture and system specifications
- Support testing, validation, and system performance optimization
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, facilities, or industrial environments
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems, HVAC, controls, or automation systems
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and drive improvements
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and external vendors
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) or controls logic
- Exposure to energy systems, modeling, or project economics
- Experience supporting capital projects, commissioning, or system design
