ITAC is seeking a reliable and hardworking Industrial Shop Apprentice to join our team. In this role, you will assemble or fabricate parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a manufacturing organization. This position is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in an industrial setting.
Job Summary- Assisting machinists and other skilled workers with their tasks to enhance productivity.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, which includes sweeping, mopping, and removing trash.
- Transporting materials and tools to and from the work area as needed.
- Preparing materials for production, including cutting, sorting, and packaging.
- Assisting in machine setup and teardown under the supervision of an experienced operator.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Performing basic maintenance tasks and troubleshooting under supervision.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to productivity improvement discussions.
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products
- Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw gun, magnetic drill, grinders, saws
- Operate calipers, tape measures, and other hand tool
- Perform self-quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Utilize horizontal and vertical bandsaws to cut material
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, take out trash, sweep floors.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year(s) fabrication experience preferred
- Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred
- Work in a team environment and respect all teammates
- Must be able to read a tape measurer
- Must be able to work well with others
- Regularly lift 30-50 pounds
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
- Ability to operate a fork-lift.
