Terminal Assistant

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a safety-focused Terminal Assistant to support daily operations at our manufacturing terminal. In this hands-on role, you will operate loading and conveying equipment, assist with loading and unloading trucks and railcars, and help monitor inventory and product quality. You will perform routine inspections, light maintenance, and housekeeping to keep the site clean and compliant. Working closely with drivers, dispatch, and terminal leadership, you'll follow strict safety and environmental standards while gaining technical skills and career growth in a stable, performance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate terminal equipment to load/unload cement and aggregates from trucks, railcars, or ships
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on conveyors, silos, and loading systems
• Monitor product quality, inventory levels, and documentation for inbound and outbound shipments
• Follow strict safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards across the terminal
• Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and supervisors to coordinate schedules and resolve issues
• Complete logs, tickets, and basic data entry for inventory and shipping records
• Support troubleshooting of equipment issues and report hazards or downtime promptly
• Assist with training and teamwork initiatives to improve terminal efficiency
