This role offers an exciting opportunity to directly impact associate well being while driving operational excellence.

As a WHS Manager, you will be the site's safety champion, leading our Global WHS Program implementation. You’ll combine hands-on safety management with strategic thinking to protect our people. You will work closely with Operations leadership to drive safety initiatives, conduct risk assessments, analyze safety data, and implement practical solutions that protect associates while supporting productivity. Your ability to build relationships and influence positive change will be essential as you help shape our safety culture.

You’ll lead safety compliance, site audits, and incident-trend analysis to target improvements where it matters most. You will manage our first aid program and emergency response capabilities to ensure immediate care is available. Your analytical skills will translate safety data into actionable insights, and your leadership will engage associates in our safety mission.

Leverage technology and data analytics to drive preventive safety measures that protect our associates while enhancing operational excellence. Develop leadership plans, communicate expectations, and measure performance against WHS policies. Conduct site audits to address non-compliance issues.
  • Strategic Partnership & Influence – Build partnerships with Operations leadership to integrate safety into the business. Use data analysis and risk insights to influence positive change and drive strategic decision-making. Establish yourself as a trusted advisor balancing safety with operational demands. Oversee recordkeeping, workplace organization, and WHS training programs.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Global WHS Program implementation at the site.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and incident trend analyses.
  • Develop and implement practical safety solutions that protect associates and support productivity.
  • Lead safety compliance efforts and site audits; drive improvements where needed.
  • Manage first aid and emergency response capabilities.
  • Engage with operations leadership to foster a strong safety culture.
Additional Job Elements
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
  • Work in environments with varying noise levels and variable temperatures.
  • Climb and descend stairs where applicable.
  • Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist with emergency response.
  • If you do not have adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, you must obtain within 3 weeks of start date.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management, or 2+ years of Amazon Safety (blue badge/FTE) experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
  • Certified Safety Professional
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leadership
  • Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability
