Electrician Supervisor:
Greensville Correctional Center
Position is responsible for managing all electrical construction and preventive maintenance; instruct and supervise assigned inmate worker. Supports the Department of Corrections' (VADOC) mission, goals and objectives through the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems in an adult correctional facility. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance to maintain the integrity of the existing structures and furnishings. Performs advanced electrical work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the facility's electrical systems.
Keys data into the Total Maintenance System (TMS) for preventative and inventory purposes. May respond to emergency callbacks for service on a rotating basis.
Considerable knowledge of the standard practices of the electrical trade; of installation and maintenance of electrical equipment; of electrical codes; and of the principles of supervision. Considerable skill in the use of tools and instruments related to the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment. Demonstrated ability to repair and install electrical equipment; to supervise the work of others; to accurately calculate project requirements.
Progressively responsible experience in the electrical trade.
Graduation from an electrician's apprenticeship program or vocational training program. Multi- trades experience. Previous correctional experience. Master Electrician certification or licensed as an Electrician.
