Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on overhead hoists, cranes, and lifting equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
  • Repair or replace motors, brakes, controls, wire ropes, chains, hooks, bearings, and other components.
  • Conduct operational testing and load testing in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Complete inspection reports, service documentation, and maintenance records accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ASME, and company safety standards.
  • Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members regarding equipment conditions and repair recommendations.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining, inspecting, or repairing overhead hoists, cranes, or related industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical school certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • Crane and Hoist Inspector Certification.
  • OSHA 10‑Hour or OSHA 30‑Hour Certification.
  • Experience with VFDs, motor controls, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Rigging, signal person, forklift, or aerial lift certifications.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of overhead hoists, cranes, rigging systems, wire ropes, chains, hooks, brakes, motors, gearboxes, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable OSHA, ASME, CMAA, and other safety standards related to lifting equipment.
  • Ability to perform load testing, inspections, preventive maintenance, and equipment certification activities.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and measuring instruments.
Certifications
  • Crane and Hoist Inspection Certification.
  • OSHA 10‑Hour or OSHA 30‑Hour Certification.
  • Qualified Rigger and/or Signal Person Certification.
  • Forklift and aerial lift certifications as required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access elevated platforms.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Safety Requirements
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
  • Ability to properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must follow all company, customer, and regulatory safety procedures.
Additional Qualifications
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer or job sites as required.
