$59,000 annually for new teachers in the 2026‑27 school year.
Application ProcessAll applicants must complete the district’s candidate assessment in one sitting; if completed within the past year the assessment will not be requested again. The assessment is required for application submission.
Summary of PositionProvide an educational program for secondary students in a supportive learning environment. Build rapport with students, parents, and staff to foster positive attitudes and personal growth. Motivates students to develop skills and knowledge needed for further education or career, in accordance with each student’s ability.
Qualifications- Credential – Any valid credential issued by the State of Indiana to perform the services of a mathematics teacher in a classroom.
- Education – Bachelor's degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements.
- HLC Certified or willingness to pursue HLC Certification (preferred).
- Experience or interest in Advanced Placement, PLTW, or International Baccalaureate (preferred).
- Willingness to take on an extracurricular activity; ECA positions come with a stipend and are in addition to base salary (preferred).
- Follow the criteria established in the Duneland School Corporation Teacher Evaluation Plan.
- Provide learning experiences in mathematics using the mandated course of study.
- Teach citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements required by state law or the corporation.
- Plan, organize, and implement differentiated lessons to meet diverse student needs.
- Establish and implement clear objectives for each lesson.
- Engage students in meaningful activities to ensure mastery of content.
- Apply Depth of Knowledge strands in instructional strategies.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student performance.
- Enter student grades in the student information system weekly.
- Engage with parents and colleagues to address academic and behavioral needs.
- Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures.
- Administer assessments required by the State of Indiana and the corporation.
- Interact professionally with colleagues, parents, and students.
- Adhere to all expectations in the Teacher Agreement, employee handbook, and building principal(s) procedures.
- Supervise students in out‑of‑classroom activities during the assigned working day.
- Participate in sponsorship of department, school, faculty, and district activities and committees.
- Keep abreast of developments in the field through reading, colleague interaction, and professional development.
- Maintain continuity of instruction, preparing for unexpected disruptions, and documenting methods in the syllabus.
- Perform other duties as assigned by building principal(s) and corporation leadership.
Work Environment:
Moderate noise level; employees are protected from weather conditions. No environmental hazards indicated.
Equipment:
Maintain working knowledge of instructional equipment; basic proficiency with computers, software, printers, projectors, smart boards, telephone systems, fax machines, and copiers.
Hours:
Regular teaching day is eight (8) hours, except when participating in meetings, plan sessions, or student/parent conferences. 185 days per year.
Physical Demands:
Regular talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle objects, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Reasonable accommodations can be made for disabilities.
